Kunapalari Trilling Frog - Neobatrachus kunapalari
Yet another difficult frog to identify from other frogs, particularly the White-footed Trilling Frog. In this district they both are very similar in size (to 50 mm, but usually smaller) and both have a small swelling below the little toe on the back legs (the metatarsal tubercle). Distinct forms of this frog have a metallic sheen on their bodies. Otherwise the back is a pale green or mustard and liberally covered with smallish elongated darker marking. The belly and flanks are smooth without tubercles or raised spots. Preferred habitats are granite outcrops and low-lying areas around them.
